What is an organic pure new wool pillow good for?
People have long appreciated the organic quality of naturally grown new wool, and not only in organic new wool pillows. The moisture-regulating and breathable properties of virgin sheep's wool have also been used for a long time, without losing sight of animal welfare.
New wool has the property of cooling in summer and warming in winter. And so virgin sheep's wool is also popular in organic sleeping pillows, as it can release and dry the stored moisture when the sleeping pillow is aired out during the day.
The outer cover gives slightly due to the puffy cotton fleece inside and the head is comfortably softly bedded.
Organic pure new wool pillow with quilted outer cover
The filling of our organic pillows is in a separate inner cover with zip, which is also made of eco-percale, 100% organic cotton, Gots-certified. This makes it easy to remove and add filling material and allows you to loosen or replace the filling by hand from time to time. You can easily remove the quilted outer cover without the loose filling material falling out and having to store it separately when washing the outer cover. You also have the option of adjusting the filling quantity and thus the height and volume of the cushion individually to your lying preferences. From time to time you can also replace the filling with fresh new wool.
Why is virgin sheep's wool naturally good?
The virgin wool we use in all organic virgin wool pillows comes from Europe and is from live animals. It is washed after shearing and gently cleaned and dried without the use of chemicals. It is then processed into small balls, which allows the new wool to retain its natural bulkiness. This type of processing preserves the natural lanolin content of the new wool. It is also responsible for the typical but natural smell of new wool, which is also inherent in the organic new wool we use.
Is a pillow with organic new wool free of chemicals?
Yes, because only a chemical cleaning of the wool, which we do not want, can eliminate this typical smell, which normally disappears after a short time, and its yellowish colouring, which clings to it. Our organic virgin wool pillows are natural and free from unnecessary chemicals and bleaching agents. They are also naturally odour and dirt repellent. New wool is also moisture-regulating and can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, thus ensuring a particularly pleasant, dry and warm sleeping climate.

Washing the pillow with quilted outer cover
You can wash the quilted pillow cover with cotton in the washing machine at 30°C. Please make sure that the washing machine is not too hot. Please make sure that the washing drum is not too full so that the outer cover can move freely on all sides. The inner cushion cover can also be washed at 30°C without the filling. Please do not wash the pure new wool filling as well. It would become matted and lose its natural self-cleaning effect.
Drying pillows with quilted outer cover
Please spin-dry the quilted outer cover only on the gentle cycle. Excessive mechanical action on the cover with its quilted fleece can lead to warping and clumping of the quilted fleece. It is better to pull the outer cover into shape after the wash cycle with the zip closed and dry it lying down. This protects the inner fleece and keeps its shape.
