Tradition
The origin and history of Lotus Design is closely connected with the Buddhist Nyingma Zentrum in Cologne-Nippes. The history of the Nyingma Center begins in Tibet. Tarthang Tulku, born in 1935, was one of the last traditionally trained lamas in the Nyingma tradition. In the late 1960s, Tarthang Tulku came to California and founded the Tibetan Nyingma Meditation Center, which now includes a variety of Buddhist organizations such as the Nyingma Institute, Dharma Publishing, Yeshe De Text Preservation Project, Odiyan Buddhist Retreat Center, and others. Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche In the mid-80s, the Nyingma Zentrum was founded as a non-profit association in Münster, Germany, as part of Nyingma Centers International. The Nyingma Zentrum aims to preserve the teachings of Buddhism, and in particular the teachings of the Tibetan Nyingma transmission lineage according to Tarthang Tulku, in Germany and to pass them on in a way suitable for the Western world. At the Nyingma Zentrum, an inspiring place in the middle of Cologne, courses on different fields of study, projects on Buddhist art and much more are offered. There is also the Buddhist publisher Dharma Publishing Germany and the Mandala Shop. Nyingmacenter Cologne |
