What is an organic pure new wool pillow good for?
With an organic pure new wool pillow you have a warming base to keep your head, neck and nape of the neck pleasantly soft. Since ancient times, people have known how to use the warming properties of virgin sheep's wool. Due to its warming and natural bulkiness, organic virgin wool is an excellent filling for sleeping pillows. It can be used loose as flakes, combed, quilted and woven as a duvet.
How does a pure new wool pillow work?
Pure new wool has the property of being able to absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without losing its warming properties. The pure new wool pillow releases the moisture back into the room air when it is aired out. In addition, the pure new wool pillow can store the body heat and release it again evenly to the body.
Is a pure new wool pillow healthy?
For our organic pure new wool pillows we use pure new wool of particularly high quality from controlled organic animal husbandry, which is obtained from live animals within Europe. The new wool is free of chemicals and bleaching agents. After shearing, it is cleaned of impurities, washed, dried and formed into small balls which increase the bulkiness of the wool. The natural content of lanolin (wool fat) is also preserved as far as possible, which increases the self-cleaning power of the wool.
How do I care for an organic pure new wool pillow?
Always shake your pure new wool pillow well after use. Slight clumping can be removed by plucking. Air your pure new wool pillow regularly so that it can release the stored moisture into the air. For washing, please remove the filling from the ticking and wash and rinse only by hand with lukewarm water and a little soap. Using hot water and washing in the washing machine would cause the wool to felt and it would be unusable for the sleeping pillow.
Pure new wool is a natural product and has a high self-cleaning power due to its lanolin (wool fat) content. Dirt and light impurities can be easily removed by brushing or combing. Pure new wool tends to peep and felt during use, but this does not limit its excellent properties.
