Do I need tools to meditate "well"?
Many people find it important to prepare a nice meditation
place in order to be able to practice meditation and mindfulness continuously
in a pleasant atmosphere. A singing bowl, cymbals or incense sticks, along with
a meditation cushion, create a suitable atmosphere and facilitate retreat and
meditation. Knee pads are an ideal addition to sitting for long periods in
meditation and relieve the knees.
Lotus Design imports singing bowls, cymbals and incense
sticks from India and Nepal. They all meet our high standards of quality. Our
seat mats and cushions are largely manufactured in German workshops for the
disabled. Below you will find a short summary of our products.
Zabuton
A Zabuton is a mat with a cotton filled ticking, which makes
sitting for longer periods in meditation more comfortable. Zabutons support the
knees and buttocks during meditation. The zabuton and the zafu in combination
are traditionally used for sitting meditation and in Zen meditation.
Knee support
Prolonged meditation can be painful at first because your
body is not used to sitting still for long periods of time. Knee pads can be a
solution. You can place knee pads under your knees as well as under your ankles
to relieve the strain of sitting for long periods of time.
Singing bowls
Singing bowls have been used in religious ceremonies for
centuries. They often perform much the same function as our church bells and
are usually made of the same material. A singing bowl is often used to mark the
beginning and end of a training session, but they can also be used for sound
meditation and singing bowl therapy. They get their best sound when struck on a
soft surface. You will find different coasters for different sized singing
bowls in our range.
Cymbals
Cymbals are small double bowls from the Indian subcontinent.
They are commonly used to indicate the beginning and end of a training period.
They are available in different sizes and can also be supplied decorated.
Incense sticks
Both singing bowls and incense sticks have been used in
religious ceremonies and meditations for centuries. Their sound and smell
immediately appeal to our senses and we can use them to quickly change the
atmosphere of small and large spaces to our liking.
